Default Weapons in town

yes i searched first.

i know it seems extra peaceful to not have your weapons out when running around town, but since so much of this game is all about looks, you cant really show off half your leet gear to most of the other players, only if they group with you.

in a recent update, options were added to hide/show your cape and helmets,

my suggestion is that there are options to hide and show your own weapons as well as an option to not see other peoples weapons.

this should not be too hard to do and i for one would like to be able to see my weapons in town.

feedback?

this is why you would have the option to turn off seeing other peoples weapons as well as prevent us from seeing yours if we have show weapons turned on.

to you the game would look the same, and we would not see your weapons.

edit: and you should all hop over to this thread so that we have all have a better chance of getting our dreams made reality http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=79673

I have no idea what the game engine is capable of, but it seems logical that if there's a swarm of characters on the screen and each of them is wielding/changing/etc a weapon, it is bound to put a much larger load on people's putters. Some folk already can't cope with around 100 characters on the screen, let alone all of those 100 wielding something. Also don't forget that data traffic would increase dramatically.

I'm honestly uncertain about this. If Anet says it's possible without huge performance losses and whatnot, then it's fine with me. Otherwise, keep it as it is.

i hadn't really thought of that, it is true we are talking about a significant increase of polygons PER PLAYER.
but offhand i would not think it would be much of a problem.

but thank you for bringing that up.

Showed strapped to a harness, swords/shileds on back, wands and off hands on thighs or hips(or underarm holsters like pistols), Staves become held as walkingsticks, bows strung over a shoulder or chest.

I approve.
I think the trendy /signed thing is over-rated. Too leet for me.

well, those options would be nice, but i dont think the models are set up to do that as yet and that WOULD require a lot of additional coding. as it stands, my suggestion should require very little coding. however, it is very cool to weapons on you but not drawn

The more little easter eggs a game like this can work into itself, the longer people will stay entertained untill the next Expansion.

Some of the dances, for example, are a bit.......gay.
We've all seen the elain dance, and it was funny, but now it's old and annoying.
The rangers river dance could use replacement too, ugh.

A warrior with a could have a dance in relation to what weapon he has equipped(kinda like some crouching tiger stuff)

Just some easter egg ideas to toss around while we're at in town appearances.

OOh, being able to dye your hair, and underwear would be nice, for those uber custom freaks/change freaks like me.

crouching tiger stuff?
lost me.

back on topic, i think this sort of thing is not really related to my original suggestion, and is a much broader request for "we want more stuff" which there is nothing wrong with, but there are already a million threads like that.
my request is very specific and i beleive very feasible.

as far as uniting the million threads, i made an attempt at that (http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=79673) and got no feedback.

I think he's talking about a weapon demo or a kata.

That would be interesting....but considering you cant really kata a magic wand...its kinda...weird...

as for the original idea, i think it will lag a bit, but as long as you can turn it off, im
